I’m Nicole Ryan Keene, owner + photographer of Nicole Ryan Photography.

Photography is my passion.

It has been since my parents gifted me an old film camera on my fifteenth birthday. But the road to making it my career wasn’t a straight one. I spent two years in community college (and earned one very uninspiring general studies degree), served four years in the military, and changed my major three times before finally realizing that photography was my true calling—the thing that would bring me lasting happiness.

Since then, I’ve become a mom and proudly earned my BFA in photography. Motherhood deepened my appreciation for the power of a photograph—how it freezes the little moments that make life so beautiful, from messy giggles to heartfelt embraces.

As a special needs mom, I understand firsthand how important it is to capture love, resilience, and connection in a way that feels authentic. That experience has made me deeply empathetic and inclusive, ensuring every family/person I work with feels truly seen, valued, and celebrated for who they are. I want your photos to reflect the beauty of your story—just as it is.
